Recruitment and Retention Pilot Project

February 2011

NADAP is pleased to announce that we have been selected by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to participate in the Recruitment and Retention Pilot Project, a national initiative managed in collaboration with the Advocates for Human Potential (AHP) and the State Association on Addiction Services (SAAS). This initiative will provide participating organizations with innovative strategies to recruit and retain skilled staff. NADAP will join chosen leaders in the behavioral health industry to test and discuss the Building Blocks for Recruitment and Retention, a web-based resource and a social networking site, developed for behavioral health organizations, specifically for recruitment and retention strategies, as well as, networking opportunities. As part of this project, NADAP has also been invited to participate on a panel at the annual NIATx Summit and SAAS National Conference to be held July 10-13, 2011 in Boston, Massachusetts.

  Stephanie Tripp is employed by NADAP, Inc. in Brooklyn. Ms. Tripp has distinguished herself with her "person-centered" approach as a case manager for the Project ACE Program. She provides strong leadership and has exemplary clinical documentation skills. Ms. Tripp is an ordained minister and the Coordinator of the Singles Ministry where she provides outreach services to the community in helping individuals suffering from addiction access the services they need to reach recovery.

Construction Career Day

March 2010

NADAP, Inc. organized the 10th annual Hudson Valley Construction Career Day that was held at SUNY Rockland Community College on March 12, 2010. Over 700 students from 28 schools throughout Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange counties received information regarding the building and construction trades industry. These students participated in hands-on demonstrations such as excavating, dry-walling, painting and plumbing and learned about future career opportunities from experienced tradesmen.

Comprehensive Employment Services (CES)

July 2008

The Manhattan Chamber of Commerce published an article about NADAP´s employment services in its Summer 2008 edition of Business Matters. The article showcases the success of NADAP´s work which includes comprehensive job preparation, placement and retention services. NADAP assists businesses in developing their workforce by placing hundreds of pre-screened qualified employees and by providing follow-up services for employee retention.

NADAP´s Annual Luncheon

June 2008

The New York Nonprofit Press recently published a news article about NADAP´s 2008 Fundraising Luncheon. This annual event provides an opportunity for NADAP to present the Lewis Rudin Award to honor an individual who has made substantial contributions to improve the communities we serve. Additionally, some of the individuals we served last year were presented with the Spirit of NADAP Award to acknowledge their significant employment achievements. Now in its twentieth year, the annual NADAP luncheon´s success is a result of the individual donors and corporations dedicated to supporting our work and mission.

Substance Abuse Awareness Campaign (SAAC)

In 2007, NADAP launched the SAAC Initiative funded by a grant from the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services. SAAC delivered training and technical assistance to small and mid-sized businesses which helped them identify and address substance abuse in the workplace. NADAP also provided technical assistance and resources for employers to develop drug-free work programs. SAAC worked with several New York City Chambers of Commerce providing services to their members as well as nonprofit organizations and businesses throughout the five boroughs.

December 2007

Brooklyn´s Progress, a bi-monthly publication by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce featured an article about SAAC´s presentation to their members in November 2007.
