Program Summary

Since 2001, NADAP has operated an intensive employment-focused case management program. Project ACE maintains an active census of 700 Brooklyn residents with chemical dependency disorders and multiple barriers to employment. This program provides bi-lingual assessment, service planning, supportive counseling and intervention to assist individuals in transitioning to the workforce. A central function of Project ACE is the coordination of services with chemical dependency treatment programs, legal and child welfare systems, health and housing providers, and community and faith-based service providers. NADAP has incorporated many innovative service components including motivational interviewing, supportive peer counseling and a client achievement recognition system. Approximately 60% of enrolled participants have legal system involvement; many with histories of long periods of incarceration. This comprehensive approach allows clients to advance in recovery and move toward self-sufficiency.
