Program Summary

Project STEP (Strategize, Train, Empower, and Place) provides individualized and comprehensive employment and training services to individuals with HIV/AIDS residing in Westchester County. NADAP's program model, working in collaboration with HIV/AIDS service providers in Westchester County and the Westchester County Dept. of Social Services, provides comprehensive services to help customers prevent and resolve employment barriers to become work ready and self-sufficient. Innovative service components include motivational interviewing, appointment escorts, strength-based service planning, an emphasis on fieldwork and a client incentive program.

The program's intensive one-on-one employment case management maximizes the customer's likelihood of obtaining employment with benefits. The emphasis is to provide individualized services and closely match job-seeker skills with employer needs.

Our goal is to provide customized support services to enable men and women to successfully transition into the workforce. Collaborative partnerships with local service providers and community resources will maximize customer success.

  • Job readiness training such as: resume writing, job search strategies, how to complete an employment application, etc.
  • Completion of an employability portfolio

  • No-cost occupational training to upgrade vocational skills
